![]() I am always looking for ways to make things easier on myself. I found a lot of great ideas and inspiration on YouTube and in blogs and Facebook Groups. I put my own spin on this and I'll explain how I made it and why I did the things I did along the way.

![]() Hey all, thanks for dropping by. Right now, I’m in the middle of lambing season and I can tell you they don’t use clocks when deciding when to birth. You might be saying yeah ok, sheep have been lambing for thousands of years, no big deal. Well, as a matter of personal preference I like to be there to imprint on the lambs and reinforce that with the Momma Ewe. Between that, there is feeding and watering all the animals, collecting eggs, ending the garden beds, cleaning cages, coops and pens, tons of repairs to be done, helping friends with building projects and our own DIY projects plus there is all the social media and checking messages and emails. Howdy and thanks for dropping by. We've made some changes today and wanted to share them with you. First, we have removed the Shared Blogs and Articles & Videos Pages. We share a lot of our friends blogs and videos through our Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube and Google+ social media sites. Honestly, it is just too time consuming and redundant to repost that on the site. Maybe in the future if I get a partner or a social media assistant we'll bring them back.
Read on for more changes! Hey all, hope the weekend is going well for you and that those of you in the colder climates are staying warm! Here the temp is going to be 82 today and sunny. One of the benefits of living in the desert is our growing season is pretty long and starts pretty early, though it does make it a bit tougher to grow greens. You have to start those in November and December so they have a good chance to grow before bolting in the warmer weather. Just wanted to take a few minutes and catch you all up on what's been going on around here.
![]() So eggs-cited!! Proud Pop. lol We got our first egg this morning then another tonight. The girls are 26 weeks old today! What makes this even more special is the 2nd egg was laid while I was sitting in the coop with the hen and petting her while she was laying. When the egg was laid, she walked over and jumped into my lap. Who says they don't have personalities? Can't wait for tomorrow to see how many more girls are laying!! I did wash the first egg to remove the dirt using just water and a rag, no soap or chemicals. That shine came naturally without anything being used to get that shine. |
