Permaculture means different things to different people but it all revolves around the 3 ethics of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares. Permaculture also has to be sustainable for it to endure. That sustainability besides meaning environmental also has to include financial sustainability. It is the later that we will focus on today and where I need your input, thoughts and experiences.
My apologies for being absent these last few days. I have been dealing with the loss of a very close family friend who was like a nephew. I've known Dennis and his family for over 25 years now. My kids played with him and his cousins. We were also actors at his family's Western Theme Park, where we did 22 live action shows a day.
He was a happy go lucky sort, always quick to make you laugh and to help someone in need and to listen to their troubles while battling his own.
One of my fondest memories was the night he and I were feeding the stage horses in their corral and one of the newer horses Gizmo nipped him on the arm. Dennis turned to me, asked if I had seen that and what should he do. I said bite him back on the lip, half jokingly. He shrugged, turned around caught Gizmo and bit him on the lip. We laughed for a long time over that bite.
His life came to a tragic end this past week, the day after his 34th birthday. He was laid to rest yesterday. Dennis, you will be missed but never forgotten and I am glad you were part of our lives though for far to briefly!!
