This week I am especially grateful that the armed robber who walked into the crowded store where my shift just started did not injure anyone after I handed over the contents of my register. It wasn't nearly as dramatic as it is on tv, we weren't herded into or locked in a cooler, nobody was pistol whipped and the event took less than a minute.
This week we celebrate the holiday called Thanksgiving. It really is ab0out more than a once a year dinner of family gathering or super sales. I've seen some family traditions, recipes and pretty great ideas on friends Facebook pages- one friend has listed something she is grateful for everyday since the beginning of November. That got me to thinking, shouldn't we be grateful everyday for what we have? No matter how insignificant it may seem, everyone has something to be thankful for.

I have shared other's blogs in the past, that focused on the similarities between homesteaders and preppers on our Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+. I have resisted sharing some posts with useful information on survival situations, because our focus is and remains developing self-sufficiency and a healthier lifestyle and not spreading paranoia or conspiracy theories. I do believe that there will be some serious and drastic changes coming in the not too distant future both in the area of national and international politics because of the populace's growing disenchantment with our governments, our abridged freedoms and individuals dwindling financial resources, I do not believe that we are imminent danger of a zombie apocalypse.
