As we mentioned in our last blog entry, the day before Christmas Eve, I had to put my best furry friend and constant companion Enzo to sleep do to illness and around Thanksgiving one of my landladies ranch dogs, Bud had to be put to sleep. Two very sad events and I'd say the worst parts of 2014.

![]() Tribute to my dog Tonight I called your name Waiting for you to show I realized it wasn't the same As today I had to let you go. You were sick and in pain It wasn't a matter of you being tougher You got that final shot in the vein Because I just couldn't let you suffer. With the last breath you drew Your memory will not be shoved to the rear And I only hope you knew How much I loved you and wished you were still here. You were saved from the shelter an hour before your time was due That was in the spring over 5 years ago Yet it seems that I was the rescue At least I think so. It is true, there will never be Another dog exactly like you Fond memories I will keep with me And I meant it when I said I love you. Now there is a hole In my life and in my heart Waiting to fill this role Is another shelter dog hoping for this part. Happy Holidays to all of you, no matter which holiday you celebrate!! The holiday season is in full swing, people are filling the malls and stores to buy gifts to exchange for whatever holiday they celebrate. During this time of giving, we felt it important to share our views on the holidays and no this isn't going to be a religious post.
