About the job.
Being a night owl anyway, I was ok with the position at first. Then I had trouble keeping everything running as it had been. I found less time for keeping in touch with you and sharing posts and social media, I had trouble finding time to help friends and even more trouble finding time to sleep and keep my energy levels up and staying healthy.
I still haven't found the perfect solution to this problem but I am starting with saying no to some of the friends help requests and I think I have found someone to help with the posts and social media stuff. Starting Saturday, you will begin seeing tweets and facebook posts again!! Now if I could only squeeze another 2 or 3 hours in a day for sleep...
Project House happenings.
Then the summer monsoon season arrived and the weeds are back with a vengeance now! We also discovered a couple more leaking spots on the roof and instead of trying to patch the roof further, I am putting a new roof on and going to coat it with an elastic polymer that is popular here and will help keep the rainwater catchment a bit cleaner.
So I will be doing that roof job in October when the temps are in the 80's. Can't believe it's the end of September and we are still having temps in the high 90's.
Two weeks ago, someone tried to break into the project house twice. The 2nd time they must have been startled by the property owner, who was there checking out interior of the house for leaks, because they dropped the stuff they had stolen from the neighbors house when they heard the shotgun being pumped.
This has placed a new urgency with the owner to get the repairs made and have me move in. This week, we reinforced the back fence, trimmed the overhanging trees and cleared away the weeds giving a better view of the fence and yard. Tomorrow, I hope to get the pallet compost bins build and begin filling it with the grass that comes out of the front yard. Then I have the raised beds to build and the chicken coop to finish.
The last big event before I move in will be getting the water turned on. This has me more than a little worried. The water has been off for the last 7 or 8 years which meants metal pipes to dry out and rust/corrode and joints that may now leak.
Things to look forward to:
We will also be building raised beds and add rainwater harvesting at her house to add to our bed space and our market offerings.
Well, that about catches you up on what's been going on around here. Hope things are going well for you wherever you are and whatever you are doing! Thanks for dropping by!!
